Our 2nd Chance Program
helps our young people get back on track and hopefully stay on
track. Many of our youth have been placed in juvenile detention
centers or have been incarcerated for most of their youthful years.
Once they leave the judicial system, they are not adequately prepared
for society. This is why ex-offenders become second or third-offenders.
We provide a discipline program for two years.
Each participant is placed in housing, and we provide employment
opportunities. However, each participant must follow our
guidelines and work toward personal, educational and life goals.

|
This program is for kindergarten through high school
students. We tutor these young people in a variety of subjects,
with strong emphasis on reading, comprehension, math, and science.
We also have field trips, reading clubs, computer learning, recreation,
and sports programs.

This program targets
young people who have dropped out of school but want to receive
their high school diplomas or GED certificates. In many
cases, we act on behalf of the parent or guardian to enroll the
child into an appropriate program. Each participant is tested
to develop an individual program to help achieve his or her personal
and academic goals. This includes participation in our Academic
Enrichment, Counseling, and Life Skills programs.
|
This program prepares
our high school and GED students for college. They attend
a tour each month of a college or university within the state
of Illinois. During the summer, they attend colleges throughout
the country. Participants also attend college prep and ACT/SAT
test preparation workshops.

Our summer day camp begins one week
after public school ends for summer vacation and ends one week
before school begins for the fall. Summer Day Camp is really
a support system for parents who are either working or attending
school. We provide the same concepts as our After School
Program, except the young people also receive three nutritious
meals a day and go on field trips.
