Sports League

The OverComers Ministries introduces our nationwide professional sports league.

Our goal is to set-up professional leagues in each state. Participants will receive stipends through ticket sales at each games. The main program requirements are to complete their college education (either before starting the program or while in the sports program) and attending a faith-based institution. Though The OverComers Ministries is run from a Christian base, we welcome participants of other faiths. We respect all religions and faiths.

More information will be available soon.

 Tournament of Peace

Each year hundreds of young people are killed by violence throughout our country.  Most are killed by gun violence.  To provide healing to the families, communities, and loved ones affected by this tragedy, we honor the lives of young people killed by gun violence.  We honor each life by putting a strong emphasis on who they were, their desires, and their accomplishments.

We have several basketball teams from various church teams, schools, and community organizations throughout the City participate in the Tournament of Peace.  The final four teams of each age category compete for first place.  Proceeds help support families who can't afford to purchase school supplies and clothing for their children.

We invite community organizations, grief counselors, and other individuals to help in the healing process, while providing SAFE Haven participants the resources they need for additional support.

This program is dedicated to David Kemp, a SAFE Haven participant killed by gun violence.  He was one of our basketball players and joined the program when it started in 1992.  David was a high school graduate and father of two when he was killed in a drive-by shooting in November 1997.
