Empowering South Shore Residents

Lorraine Y. Bogan has been a resident of Chicago's South Shore neighborhood for 44 years. Because of this, The OverComers-SAFE Haven Ministries is dedicated to providing services that uplift and encourage community residents.

Upcoming programs will address the increasing unemployment rate in South Shore.

Three workshops will be given:

- Job Readiness. Residents will learn both the technical and social skills necessary to be successful at an administrative, customer service, or corporate job

- Entrepreneurship. Have you ever dreamed of opening your own business? If so, this workshop will teach you the steps to plan, start, and run a profitable business.

- Giving Back through Employment. This workshop is for South Shore business owners who may be hesitant to hire from within the community. It will show the benefits of hiring locally as well as highlight the talents of several community residents. A job fair booth will also be available.
